Quarter Midget Racing (Northwest Hall)

Welcome to the Northwest Building, Home of the 29th Annual Quarter Midget Racing Competition at Motorama.

There’s something electrifying about racing quarter midgets at Motorama, a feeling you can’t quite put into words until you’re there.

Motorama isn’t just another race on the calendar. It’s a stage, the crowds, the roar of engines echoing through the building—it turns every lap into a moment and every driver into part of something bigger. For quarter midget racers, it’s a rare chance to compete indoors, on a tight, technical surface that rewards skill, focus, and bravery. Every pass matters. Every mistake shows. It’s pure racing.

For drivers, Motorama is about pressure and pride. Racing in front of packed grandstands pushing kids to dig deeper, race smarter, and rise to the occasion. It builds confidence like nothing else. Many racers remember their Motorama laps for years—not just for how they finished, but for how it felt to race under the lights with all eyes on them.

For families, it’s unforgettable. Parents get to watch their kids compete on one of the biggest motorsports stages in the region. Siblings, friends, and fans all get to see quarter midget racing showcased the way it deserves to be—fast, competitive, and exciting. It’s a weekend that brings everyone together and reminds us why we fell in love with racing in the first place.

It is also about exposure. It puts quarter midget racing in front of tens of thousands of fans who may be seeing it for the first time. Every class on that track helps grow the sport, inspire future racers, and show just how talented these young drivers really are.

Racing quarter midgets at Motorama isn’t just about trophies. It’s about memories, growth, and being part of an atmosphere that makes racers dream bigger. If you want to challenge yourself, represent your racing family, and be part of something special, racing Quarter Midgets at Motorama is where you need to be.

Thank you all for coming to see these young girls & boys race their hearts out for the coveted “ M” award. Someday you might see them at a local track near you driving something bigger & faster like 70% of the youngsters who have raced their laps here.

The Quarter Midget Operation Team

Our TEAM, without this team, we would never be able to put this show on. Every member has either raced on this track or their child has, there are many years of experience here. Members are Lisa and Makenzie Erlsten (pit steward, runner, other duties), Kelly and Otto Hixon (pit steward, announcing, tech, track set up and tear down. Christina Healy (head scorer) Samantha King (scorer), Jessica Beane ( scorer); Jen and Tim Henry (pit steward, runner, tech, track set up and tear down), Allina & Ryan Payonk (pit steward, runner and tech track set up and tear down), Michelle and Rob Pinder (race parts trailer and tech), Nicole Flood (flagger), Mike Pio (race director), Brittany Edgar (flagger / registration), and Sherry Beinhower (photographer). As you can see it takes quite a team to make this all happen.

On behalf of myself and our entire operation team - Thank You for spending your weekend with us here at Motorama Races and Shows – we look forward to seeing you next year when 2027’s show comes back around!

Best regards,

Mike Erlsten – Quarter Midget Program Director
