If you are a fan of Modifieds, Late Models, and Sprint Cars this is the event for you! Do not let their size fool you. A more appropriate term would be Scale Dirt Oval racing. These cars have more adjustments than their full size counterparts. Notable names that have raced these on serious level include Busch Champion Jeff Green, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Tony Stewart. Tony Stewart was so involved that he ended up buying the leading chassis manufacture at the time. That company, Custom Works is actually here as a vendor this weekend.
These cars can hit 30 real mph on our small track which scaled up to their full size counterpart would be 300mph. Using a all electronic power plant with adjustability to every aspect of it. From the amount of torque, to just how fast the power is applied every parameter can be adjusted allowing their drivers to fine tune it to track conditions. Even down to tires for the cars, the process in preparing them is treated scientifically. From which chemicals are added to them, to how much tread depth they want.
Last year in the two premier classes Outlaw Sprint and Late model we saw Nathan Dean fly in from Texas to dominate both classes. In our stock and small block modified classes we saw New York’s own David Peek sweep both classes. In our outlaw modified class we saw Ryan Ralph from Kentucky bring home the checkered. In our wingless class Ross May from Missouri took home the win. And in our street stock class Pennsylvania’s own Dale Hartzell was able to bring it home.
This year the excitement will be non stop with the best drivers from around the country trying with everything they have to bring home the coveted “Big M” Motorama trophy. Stop by and catch some action and even pick up a car from one of the vendors and jump into scale dirt oval racing at one of the many tracks in the North East area.
Respectfully,
Alphie Adams and the Oval Operations Team
